About Mona Ido

Mona earned a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University Graduate College of WV and has been in private practice for over 10 years. Before acquiring her own office, she worked with adolescents in a therapeutic group home as a therapist and case manager.

Her therapeutic modalities include Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Impact Therapy, EMDR, and Hypnotherapy.

In addition, she is a Certified Adoption Specialist working with families who are fostering or have adopted troubled adolescents.


 

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

A form of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) which focuses on resolving emotional and behavioral problems and disturbances.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a psychotherapeutic approach that addresses dysfunctional emotions, maladaptive behaviors and cognitive processes, and contents through a number of goal-oriented, explicit systematic procedures.

Transactional Analysis

TA is an integrative approach to the theory of psychology and psychotherapy, which contains elements of psychoanalytic, humanist and cognitive approaches.

Impact Therapy

A multi-sensory counseling approach which serves as a solid bridge between theories and techniques and provides a clear way to understand the process of a counseling session.

Hypnotherapy

A form of psychotherapy utilized to create unconscious change in the patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors and/or feelings.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing emphasizes disturbing memories as the cause of psychopathology and alleviates the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
